Ambassadors Behind the Scenes
Cornwall is a town of remarkable people. Team Cornwall’s army of nearly 500 individuals are joined by hundreds of other ambassadors who donate resources and time for the betterment of our community, without wanting anything in return.
Here’s the story about one such ambassador.
Community volunteer and ambassador Dave Fontaine
Dave Fontaine prefers to remain behind the scenes. For years, he’s volunteered in the community, giving countless hours to help make a difference in whatever way he can. Big Brothers Big Sisters is especially thankful for Dave’s hard work and dedication.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters comes across amazing volunteers, but sometimes we are lucky enough to meet someone who goes above and beyond,” explains Amanda Brisson, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall. “Dave is one such person.”
The agency has been collecting electronics for recycling for over a year. This campaign was a huge challenge – that is, until Dave’s company, Seaway Express, offered their help. Dave is a truck driver by trade, but on days when he’s at the Big Brother house, he finds himself lifting, packing, and hauling huge televisions and electronics. These duties extend far from his job description, but he doesn’t mind getting things done to help out.
Amanda, her team at Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Team Cornwall would like to salute Dave for his wonderful work in the city.
“Dave doesn’t need to be doing this, but he does,” said Amanda. “BIG thanks for going above and beyond. You are a true team player and gem within our community!”
