Team Cornwall, Mayor, and Council Fun Day Recap

Monday, October 22nd, 2012

The seventh annual Team Cornwall, Mayor, and Council Fun Day took place on September 12th, 2012 and this year’s event continued its tradition of beautiful weather, golfing fun, and premiere networking at Summerheights Golf Links.

“This year’s Fun Day was another successful campaign, thanks to the generous sponsorship and support from our local business and community members,” said Gilles Latour, Team Cornwall Chair.

Over 140 golfers took to the green to raise funds for Team Cornwall, whose initiatives and ambassadorial efforts help support the City of Cornwall’s Economic Development department, Cornwall and the Counties Tourism, and the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce.

Special celebrity guests included CTV Morning Live hosts Kurt Stoodley and Jeff Hopper, and 2012 Olympic athlete and soccer star Christina Julien and welterweight boxing champion Tony Luis, both of whom act as Team Cornwall Ambassadors for their hometown.

The event concluded with a silent auction, dinner, and live auction – with auction items that included donations from His Worship Mayor Bob Kilger and each member of the elected Council.
